Why Cupcakes?

It’s a fair question. Why is an organization that supports sex workers and connects people to community resources named after a baked good?

Our name began during outreach visits to clubs in Las Vegas, Nevada, where we carried boxes of pink cupcakes. These small treats became a gentle icebreaker and an invitation to conversation with entertainers. After being affectionately called “The Cupcake Girls” during one visit, the name stuck, and we decided to make it official back in 2011.

Today, we bring cupcakes to clubs and legal brothels only upon request, but they’ve become a lasting symbol of warmth, care, and community. You’ll still see them at our events, fundraisers, and outreach efforts. A sweet reminder of how simple acts of kindness can open the door to meaningful connection.
